Digital Footprint / Digital Citizenship
A digital footprint is where you leave a trail of cookies, or a path of where you have been and what websites you have gotten on. It shows all the things you have posted or searched. That is how things get linked to google, because if you type in your name it will look for that so if you were in a picture on your school's website, it might come up. It is just a trail that you left on your computer.
Digital citzenship is being a good (or bad) person digitally as in the internet or cell phone. It is how you act and exspress yourself. You want to be a good digital citizen but sadly not everyone is. Being a good digital citizen is the best thing you can do online. It is kind of like social responsibility because good social responsibility is being kind to one another in person, but good digital citizenship is being kind to one another online or anything digital.
Some positive examples of digital citizenship are saying nice things to some one else, giving them good feedback. Even things as simple as being nice and not rude or hurtfull. When people show respect they have good digital citizenship. Saying things like, wow, that is really good good job, and things like that are examples of positive digital citizenship.
Some negative examples of digital citizenship are saying rude, negative things that bring someone down. Some people put innapropriate and mean things, and doing dangerous things. If someone put something about how so-and-so is doing ___ you shouldn't hang out with them, that is negative digital citizenship.
Assignment: DigiTeen Introduction
After reading some introductions from other students in the project:
1. Look at the rubric so that you will know how the introduction will be graded (advanced is worth the most points, beginning is worth the least points).
2. Write 5 - 10 (or more) sentences to introduce yourself.
3. Pay particular attention to correct spelling, capitalization and punctuation - this is SCHOOL WRITING, not TEXT writing.
Hi, I'm Jenna W. I am 12 years old and I am in 7th grade at West Middle School. I have a summer birthday so I am younger than most 7th graders. I play soccer and basketball, but the thing that I enjoy doing most is dancing! I have been dancing since I was three and I really like it. I have two older brothers that are 19 and 16. I like to read a lot but my favorite subject is math. I love to hang out with my friends! I also like to sing and have gone to a music summer camp and honor choir. My favorite colors are lime green, purple, and orange (but not all together.) I enjoy listening to music, I'm not really sure what my favorite kind is but I don't like country very much except for a few random songs. I also have a dog that is a schnoodle, a mix of a schnauzer and a poodle, her name is Zoey. Zoey is all white with short curly hair and a really high pitch bark.
